3.3 How Objectives, Actions, and Targets work together

Understanding the difference between the Action Module and the Target Module in Klappir-Strategy

How Objectives, Actions, and Targets work together

In Klappir-Strategy, your Objectives, Actions, and Targets are closely connected — but they are managed in different modules and serve different purposes.

Objectives and Actions – Managed in the Action Module

  • Objectives describe what you want to achieve for a specific sustainability priority (e.g. improving workforce well-being, reducing emissions).

  • Actions are what you will do to reach that objective. These are concrete steps, projects, or initiatives.

  • Each Action can be broken into Tasks and assigned to responsible team members.

  • You can track progress and status directly in the Action Module.

📌 Example:

Objective: Improve workforce well-being
Action: Introduce flexible working hours
Expected Outcome: Increased job satisfaction and reduced stress
Tasks: Define quiet hours policy, communicate to staff, monitor uptake

Targets – Managed in the Target Module

  • Targets define what success looks like, typically using measurable indicators (e.g. reduce CO₂ by 30% by 2030).

  • Targets can be linked to Actions to show how specific actions contribute to achieving them.

  • You can also track progress against each target in the Target Module, including baseline, current values, and target values.

📌 Example:

Target: Reduce absenteeism due to stress by 15% by 2026
Linked Action: Introduce flexible working hours and mental health support programs
